Invest in Mauritius
Mauritius has opened its doors to the world. The country wants to attract foreign investors and professionals to contribute to its Vision 2030, that is, becoming a high-income nation. Business opportunities abound in existing sectors, new sectors and new segments of existing sectors.
The local business climate is very investor-friendly and foreigners can easily obtain a residence permit. Acquisition of residential and business property is also much easier than before. Foreign nationals are free to invest in a wide range of activities and obtain an ‘Occupation Permit’ as Investor.
An Occupation Permit is a combined work and residence permit and the holder’s dependents are eligible for a residence permit. Mauritius is a free economy. Corporate tax is only 15% for domestic activities and 3% for export-oriented activities and there is no Capital Gains Tax, no Inheritance Tax, no foreign exchange control and no prohibition on 100% repatriation of capital or profits. Foreigners can hold 100% shareholding in a company. There is no need to be a resident to own a company.
