Retire in Mauritius
Foreign nationals over 50 years of age can opt for a Residence Permit as Retired Non-citizen if they are able to bring into Mauritius a cumulative total of at least 18,000 USD (or its equivalent in any other convertible currency) annually as their living expenses. The spouse of the applicant qualifies for residence permit as dependent.
After three years, if they have brought a cumulative total of USD 54,000 over a period of three years, they become eligible for a 10-year Permanent Residence, which is renewable every 10 years. The money stays in their private bank account and they are free to spend as they wish.
