Retire in Mauritius
Foreign nationals over 50 years of age can opt for a Residence Permit as Retired Non-citizen if they are able to bring into Mauritius a cumulative total of at least 18,000 USD (or its equivalent in any other convertible currency) annually as their living expenses. The spouse of the applicant qualifies for residence permit as dependent.
A Retired Residence Permit has a duration of 10 years, and is renewable thereafter. The funds transferred to Mauritius remain in their private bank account and they are free to spend as they wish.
An applicant need to transfer an initial amount of 1,500 USD only to obtain the permit.
A Retired Residence permit holder may invest in any business, subject to conditions.
